Why did the colonies of East Florida and West Florida remain loyal to Great Britain while the other 13 American colonies chose to seek independence? The purpose of this project is to demonstrate that the population of the Floridas was considerably different than any of the other colonies. Late comers to the colonial game, most had deep British roots and were recent arrivals, thus were fiercely loyal to the British Crown.
